The Property

This historic ocean front resort on St Simons Island, Georgia features 192 guest rooms in a variety of buildings, including two and three bedroom villas and resort residences. In 1935, The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort opened as a private dance club at the ocean’s edge on St. Simons Island in Georgia’s Golden Isles. The name “King and Prince” was coined by friends of the original owners, who felt it captured the property’s regal atmosphere.

Situation

The resort’s Chief Engineer, a former golf course superintendent, found it to be a continual battle to maintain Bermuda grass on the property, especially in high traffic areas. Artificial grass was a logical choice. Featured artificial grass installations:

1. The Cottage, 50oz Play 50, 1800 square feet, Recreation and play space, previously natural grass. Located adjacent to the former Wesley Cottage, this is a go-to spot featuring a large fire pit and sitting area for guests to enjoy on the lawn, as well as a castle playground for the kids.

2. Atlantic Court Event Space, 50oz Play50, 3000 square feet, Wedding and event space, previously natural grass. Ocean views and towering palm trees come together to create a stunning natural backdrop surrounding the Atlantic Court, providing a picture-perfect wedding venue outdoors. Up to 200 Guests.

3. Delegal Lawn, 50oz Play 50, 4000 square feet, Wedding and event space, previously natural grass. Steps from the ocean, the Delegal Lawn is the resort's premier outdoor option for rehearsal dinners, ceremonies, and receptions. Up to 200 guests.
